Kids Care Club Announcements

First of all THANKS to everyone that so generously donated to the drive last month for homeless children and families in Larimer County.  A special thanks to the Wieda family and their church for donating 75 plastic bags filled with toiletry items! Due to the amazing generosity of Bethke families we were able to donate 50 decorated canvas bags packed full with toiletry items, books and activity kits.  We also donated the other 25 toiletry kits! All of these items were welcomed with open arms at the Sister Mary Alice Murphy Center for Hope located in north Fort Collins.  As soon as the bags were delivered, people were already lining up to get them!

The next KIDS CARE CLUB meeting will be Wednesday, November 16th from 3:15-4-30 in Mrs. Tindall’s room (215). We will be learning the basics of CPR and first aid from Adam Rae, an ambassador from the American Red Cross, and will get to practice chest compressions on manikins.  All ages are welcome and drinks and snacks will be provided! Hope to see you there!

CARING TREE

Bethke is “adopting” the residents at a low-income, assisted living facility in Fort Collins called the Residence at Oakridge (located at 4750 Wheaton Dr.) The residents range in age from 18-98.

On Monday, November 14th, a Caring Tree will be set up near the TV in the school entry.  There will be pictures of the residents in frames on the tree.  On the back of each picture is a note card with some gift wishes for that resident.  The suggested amount to spend is $20. Take the picture frames that you choose home with you, wrap the gifts and then bring them back by the delivery date, Dec. 14th. (The gifts can be placed under the tree). Include the picture frame on your package. Please highlight the items on the note card that were purchased and write in anything else that you included.  A Safeway gift card or Dollar Store gift card can always be used because it is so close to the facility.

On Dec. 14th, (our Kids Care Club meeting), Bethke students and families are invited to personally deliver the gifts to the residents.  Also, some of the Bethke choir students will sing a few songs during that time. (More details to follow…)

Let’s show the Residents at Oakridge how much Bethke Cares!!
